Brief Biographical Sketch:
Amanda is a freshman at Stanford pursuing degrees in Biology (with a concentration in Neuroscience) and Creative Writing. She is a staff writer for the Stanford Daily, where she writes for the Opinions section. The first person in her family to go to college, she is a proud member of the Leland Scholars Program, the Frosh Scholars Program, QuestBridge, and the First-Generation Low Income Partnership (FLIP). This creative writing course will teach students how to use language to strike a chord with their readers. Students will receive instruction on how to use empathy as a means to evoke emotion and create meaningful scenes and situations in their writing. No experience needed — just an open mind and eagerness to write!
