R1848: Myths in the Modern World in Splash! Fall 2011 (Oct. 29 - 30, 2011)
If you've seen the movie "Thor" or read "Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief", this class is for you! Myths and legends played an important role in many cultures and societies, yet even today, many of the same mythical characters live on in movies, books, comics and popular culture. In this class, we'll be looking at some of these characters, and talking about how they've changed over the centuries. Myth and fantasy are important parts of our collective heritage, and can be a fascinating way to think about human imagination!
