P2711: Braaaiiiiinss! An Exploration of Human Thought and Behavior in Splash! Spring 2013 (Apr. 13 - 14, 2013)
We are one of the biggest mysteries of science: how we think, how we feel, how we act. Why are some people shy and others outgoing? What do all these labels we place on people really mean (e.g. ADHD, OCD, BD)? How does our family affect who we become? If you’ve ever asked yourself one of these questions or have ever been intrigued by the human psyche, then please sign up! We will highlight some well-known research studies, discuss how to design a study, and run our own “experiment” with us as the “guinea pigs.”

R1548: Rage Against what Machine? The Cyborg Revolution in Splash! Spring 2011 (Apr. 16 - 17, 2011)
We will be looking at clips from films like Blade Runner and James Cameron's Avatar to explore the increasing pervasiveness of technology in daily life. We will then try to decide whether this technological revolution promotes economic divide or unity, using the opinionated responses of several media outlets to guide us.
