Everyone deals with the law - every single day. In this course you will learn some of your basic rights (under constitutional, criminal, family and contract law), how to seek the help of government agencies to enforce these rights and how to become more self-sufficient!

Even though we all get involved in legal transactions, a traffic police stop or a dispute, only a few basic notions of law are taught during primary or secondary education. In this course you will learn some of your basic rights (under constitutional, criminal, family and contract law), how to seek the help of government agencies to enforce these rights and how to become more self-sufficient!

S651: Law 101 in Splash! Fall 2009 (Oct. 10 - 11, 2009)
While most adults get involved at some point in life in a legal contract, a traffic police stop or a dispute, no basic notions of law are taught during primary or secondary education.
This course will help you get a general introduction to the basic principles of the American legal system and profession. Hopefully, it will also make you start thinking like a lawyer!
