Brief Biographical Sketch:
Lloyd Lucin has been on hip hop choreography teams since the eighth grade. Among his accomplishments, he, as the team captain, led his high school's All Male hip hop team to two consecutive USA National first place titles in 2010 and 2011. Over this past summer, he danced on national television for America's Got Talent Season 7 as a semifinalist with the world-renowned dance troupe, The Academy of Villains. We will be exploring a new genre of choreography called Hip Hop. Choreography will train muscles never been used before.
V2455: Popping/Isolations/Tutting/Hiphop Choreography in Splash! Fall 2012 (Nov. 03 - 04, 2012)
Lloyd Lucin, a Stanford sophomore, has danced for Academy of Villains (America's Got Talent Semifinalists), Channel Islands All Male (USA National Champions 2010 & 2011), and choreographs for three hip hop teams at Stanford University.
This class will focus on a routine that goes over basic tutting and isolations for beginning dancers!
V1997: Hip Hop Intermediate: Smooth Choreography in Splash! Spring 2012 (Apr. 21 - 22, 2012)
Students will take a step into the dance scene and learn smooth choreography taught by dancer and choreographer Lloyd Lucin. He has won national championships in high school with Channel Islands All Male and is currently dancing for three hip hop teams in NorCal. Students will learn counting and the importance of execution, angle placements, and performance, and will most of all have fun!
V1680: Hip Hop, the Happy Robot in Splash! Fall 2011 (Oct. 29 - 30, 2011)
Students will learn a section of choreography taught at a beginners pace in order to appreciate a fun expression of hip hop dance. Students will learn a gist of the importance of angle placements, arm extensions, body isolations, and facial expressions in dance performance. Choreography will be based on elementary robotics and simple modern tutting. No experience required
